The Embassy of Iraq is closed for submissions on Fridays.

Tourist visas to Iraq for individuals needs to be applied inside Iraq by an Iraqi sponsor who gives a copy of the passport of the applicant/applicants with a responsibility letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department and asks them to send the approval to the closest Iraqi Consulate for the applicants, then the Consulate will issue the visa directly.

For groups of 5 people or more, visa must be applied through the Iraqi tourist companies, which are contracted with the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism.

Documents required for tourist visa to Iraq:

Iraq visa application form. For online orders, please download, print and sign Iraq visa application, prepared by our system under your account. Application MUST be typed. Handwritten applications will not be accepted by the Embassy. Application forms cannot be double sided, please print on one side.

Original, signed United States of America passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.

Passport Photo: 2 Include a passport style photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a surcharge associated with this service.

COVID-19 Test Result. Please provide a copy of a recently issued negative COVID-19 test result.

Approval. Approval reference number that is issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department.

Personal Letter. A personal letter from the applicant addressed to the Embassy of Iraq, explaining the purpose of the trip, dates of travel, cities to be visited, and place of accommodation. The letter must be written and signed personally by the visa applicant or their legal guardian. A tour company cannot provide the letter on the visa applicant's behalf.
